Another one looking for new place to stay
24/06/09 18:43 Filed in: Dolls
Yup...here are a few girls of mine looking for new places to go and travel. It has been hard for me to decide who to let go so I’ve debating for the past few weeks. The same information can also be found on Plastic Paradise.
Doll: Gentle River (nude)
Condition: The doll is in good clean condition with no visible stains or marks that I can see. Her make up and eyes are completely stock as I did not change or alter in any way. I do not recall if I washed her hair or not but I do know I did not trim or cut her hair. Her fringe is longer in the center. Her new owner may choose to trim it if he or she desires. Her eyes change without any problem though to me the sound when you pull to change her eye colors sounds loud but I am not sure if this is common or not. I will packed her safely with bubble wraps inside a cardboard box. No trade this time for the doll as I am selling her to fund for a new doll.
Price: USD$295
Shipping: USD$15 priority mail with delivery confirmation within the US; USD$35 EMS worldwide

Doll: Misaki Anti-Social (nude)
Condition: Overall the doll is in good clean condition with no visible marks or stains that I can see. The doll has been stored in my closet most of the time and was out only for few photo shoot. I have never washed her hair so her fringe is still stiff from the glue they used on the doll from the manufacturer. Her fingernails and toenails are painted by stock. The only one I see with a tiny wear/paint not as full is the second finger on her left hand. She has not customizations done whatsoever. I will packed her safely with bubble wraps inside a cardboard box.
Price: USD$150 shipped within US with delivery confirmation; USD$165 shipped outside of US with EMS.

Tiny cleaning out sale

Okay...it is never easy to clear out personal belongings because of certain attachments or memories you have with those items. But as hard as it is for me to do this, I need to clear out a few dolly and dolly related items since new residences have moved in. For now, I have a customized VM up for adoption along with some Blythe clothes. Detailed info can be found on Plastic Paradise: http://plasticparadise.forumotion.com/index.htm under my id name ‘pei78’.

It's so bad but oh so good
05/06/09 04:26 Filed in: Daily Life
I know this is probably a wishful thinking but...why can’t delicious nutrition-less junk food be healthy and not so high in calories?
I was doing my daily errand of running to the post office, shopping for fabrics and picking up dry cleaning clothes when an evil thought flashed across my mind. The day was warm, not so hot, yet I was craving for a McDonalds ice cream cone. I even had the image of the perfectly milky swirled cone imbedded in my head as I walked across the parking lot of Joann fabric store heading in the direction of my car. I kept telling myself that for such little cone, I will need to walk on the walking machine for god knows how long and how it contained nothing but sugar..lots and lots of sugar. Deep down inside though, I know it was pointless to come up with anymore logical reasoning because 90% of me already gave in. So, off I drove to a nearby McDonalds restaurant. The good thing about McDonalds is that they are almost at every corner. They make it so convenient and affordable that it is almost no effort to give in. Thank god I am not much of a coffee fan because as I drive through their pick up window, I saw at least three signs advertising their new McCafe. I gotta say..those iced coffee sure look good, even if they are printed on a 2D cardboard paper.
Anyway, I successfully picked up a cone from the drive thru and held it in my left hand as my right trying to get a good grip of the driving wheel to continue my journey home. Since it is not everyday that I get to treat myself this way, I’ve decided to eat and lick it as slow as I can before I hit home so that I can take a picture of this precious moment in time. Good thing my house is not too far from the McDonalds otherwise I think there will be only the paper wrap of the cone left when I hit home.
Ah~ Such a wonderful little delight in life I have in my hand.

Second batch of helmets are here~
27/05/09 18:47
Finally the second batch of helmets are here! Thank you everyone for waiting patiently with me. Now that I have the new batch of helmets in hand, there are some information I will need to correct from the previous post (before I received the helmets).
First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone because there was a miscommunication between the supplier and I. Yes it was true that the price of this second batch was higher because the company who made them increased the cost. However, the style is still the same as the previous batch. There wasn’t any new style. The miscommunication was caused by the price increased and since my supplier doesn’t speak English well, that is also why. Although I did pay more for these second batch of helmets, I do not feel it is fair to ask those of you who are waiting to pay USD$15 when the first one was USD$11. Therefore, the price of these second batch will be USD$12 and not USD$15 that was previously mentioned. Shipping fee is still the same: first class mail for US buyer is USD$3; first class for international buyer is USD$4 for 1 helmet and USD$6 for more than one; registered mail outside of US is USD$15.
Size: Latidoll yellow normal ears (may fit some with smaller elf ears).
Colors: baby blue, pink and black.
Quantity: 10 of each color.
*From the first batch, I still have orange left for those of you who are interested.
For those of you who left me comment on my blog on April 11th post, please send me your contact info here or you can flickr message me. My flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pei78/
Thank you and I apologize again for the confusion.

Evil can be disguised in different forms
17/05/09 20:49 Filed in: Daily Life
There are so many evilness and temptations waiting for us in our daily life. I find it so hard to not give in so everyday is pretty much a battle. To be able to resist them is heroism in itself.
Just the other day, I spotted evil disguised itself in the form of chocolates. I was window shopping with my sister at a local mall and we walked by a small innocent looking chocolate store. I had to stop myself from taking another step forward because right there smacked in the middle of the display window, I saw puppies, cats, beetles and ducks in the forms of chocolates. This called for a serious oh my god moment. I couldn’t believe how such high calorie, pimple inviting sweets can be so darn cute! Goodness! It is as if chocolate itself is not tempting enough. I gave my sister a look of ‘is it ok if I just walk in to check how much those things are’ and to my surprise, she nodded her head. I so wished she hadn’t though.
Once inside, I asked the cashier how much those puppy looking chocolates were. He told me they were around USD$4.50 each due to the weight (since they were all solid inside). I almost fainted at the price so I stared real hard at the three rows of dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate puppies hoping somehow I can find reasons to not want them. Of course the darn cashier guy just had to take out more of those puppy chocolates from behind the counter and lined them up one by one for me to see. The different color puppies wobbled left and right trying to line up. I felt the temptation wobbling with them as well. So after what seemed like a forever two minutes, I decided to buy one white chocolate puppy and one milk chocolate one. Yes, I failed. Yes, I surrendered. And yes, I paid USD$9 for two tiny chunks of chocolate. Sigh.

Second order of motorcycle helmets..
12/05/09 18:09 Filed in: Dolls
Hello everyone~
Thank you to those who have been patiently waiting for this new batch of motorcycle helmets. Like I have said and mentioned before on my previous post, I was waiting to have enough people for this second batch so that I can submit the order in one go.
I have submitted the order last week for 10 baby pink, 10 baby blue and 10 black helmets. My supplier has informed me of a few changes in these helmets so please do take notice.
The first being the star style is no longer available as it has been retired. The new helmets will have new design on them. I do not have picture of the new design yet so as soon as they arrive, I will take pictures to show. The helmets have been shipped today and will probably take a week or two before I have them on hand.
The second change is the price. The price for these new helmets will be slightly higher than the previous ones. This is due to the new design and the price inflation of the helmet making company so please do understand this. The price of the new helmet will be USD$15. Shipping fee is the same.
For those who have left me comment on the previous post asking for these certain colors of baby pink, baby blue and black, I will let you guys decide first if you still want them or not once they are here. Thank you for bearing with me on the waiting time.

One eel rice bento please!
26/04/09 22:59 Filed in: Daily Life
Today was one of those lazy sundays where I don’t feel motivated to work, sew, cook or do much stuff. Actually come to think of it, sometimes my weekdays are also lazy too. Hm..but that’s another topic for another day.
We have neighbor living above us and they have a little girl about 5 or 6 years old who LOVES to run and thump around their house. I don’t know how or where little kids get all their energies from. That little kid can run straight non-stop for 3 hours! It’s madness I say! Imaging hearing thumping sounds to and fro above your head for 3 straight hours. I know it is wrong to have evil thoughts or ill wishes against a little girl but sometimes I can’t help myself! At times like this, hubby and I just want to go out and enjoy ourselves. Even though today the little girl did not run or thump so long, we still decided to go out and enjoy the sunny weather.
We picked a ramen restaurant that opened up just few months ago for lunch. Usually I would order a nice hot bowl of ramen but since I had upset tummy two days before, I wanted to play safe and ordered something with rice instead. I looked at the menu quickly and picked out the eel rice bento box set. I love eel rice although I did not know how eel looks like in real life until few years ago and let’s just say I prefer the cooked version. When the set arrived on our table, it consisted of a box of eel laid on top of white rice, a little side dish of sauteed cucumbers and a bowl of miso soup. At that point I was starving already so I munched right down. Yum-o-yum! The eel is just right and soft with a hint of sweetness from the sauce. With a few bites of the eel rice, I also ate the cucumber in between. Having a delicious meal like this on a sunny day sure can bring a big happy smile to my face (and heart!). Ahh......what a lovely way to spend my Sunday afternoon~

Hello everyone~
Thank you to those who have purchased the Latidoll yellow helmets. Some colors such as baby pink and baby blue ran out super fast and few have asked me for these colors. I will need a head count to see how many pink helmets I need to reorder so if you missed out the last time, post a comment here to let me know. I will see if I can manage to get more.
Thank you n______n
UPDATE 5/5/09: I have submitted my requests for 10 pink helmets, 5 blacks and 5 baby blues as of today. My supplier will need to go and check to see if there are enough in stock. As soon as I hear back from her, I will post update here. Sorry for the long wait as I tried to gathered enough people first to submit the second order.

Playing with old dollies
09/04/09 04:13 Filed in: Dolls
Recently, I’ve found myself redressing and playing with the dolls I have rather than kept on buying new ones in. A friend of hubby’s told us today that the desire of getting what you want and yet still yearning for more is human nature; it is a mean of survival instinct. If this is the case, then I guess I have found a good reason to back me up on all these years of mad dolly purchases (hooray!).
Of course, the redressing and replaying part falls more on my Blythe dolls than BJDs (ball jointed dolls). I still feel the need of wanting new tiny BJDs but at least not for Blythe. I do love my Blythe so not wanting to buy any more new ones doesn’t mean I don’t love them anymore. The ‘prettier’ or shall I say the more ‘rational’ way of explaining my behavior of redressing my old dolls is simply appreciation; to appreciate what I already have and own. The more ‘true’ way of looking at it is, well, I lack the funds. Yup...it is as simple as that.
After enjoying the dolls I have and playing with them again, the love I have for them in the first place came right back. I am happy and feel lucky to have these dolls with me even though at times I am so busy sewing that I don’t have any spare time to set aside for my dolls. I am trying to change that slowly. Right now, I divide my days into three parts. I would sew, exercise and set time aside to play with dolls. I use the daytime to sew until 11pm and then I will try to exercise at least 30 minutes. I know 30 minutes isn’t much but it is better than zero exercise I did in the past. The last hour or so of my day I will pick a doll up from my dolly shelf and just enjoy her. This arrangement is working for me so far and hopefully it will continue being so.

Markings
02/04/09 18:42 Filed in: Daily Life
Marks can be physical or emotional. Some they can last forever while others just few short minutes. Pillow marks on your face or on the pillow you make when you just woke up from your sleep will disappear eventually. Extra coffee that dripped out from the cup can also left stain/mark on the tablecloth or the cup holder. These are some of the physical marks in our daily life. Emotional marks are harder to get rid of or disappear.
The marks I am talking about today is from wedding rings.
How many of you wear your wedding rings on your finger 24 hours a day 365 days a year? The rings I have are titanium and are quite heavy. I don’t wear mine all the time but not because they are not special or important but when sewing and handling dolls, I try to be as careful as I can. I have two rings; one is for engagement and one for wedding. The wedding ring I have is quite thick and heavy (due to the material) that it creates spaces between my other fingers. That is how thick it is. Since I sew a lot and handle my dolls to model quite often, I am just afraid if I am not careful enough, I might make little scratches or marks here and there. I have them on when I am not handling dolls or when I go out. Sometimes I like to stare at the markings left by the rings on my fingers when I am not wearing them.
So...are you marked or not?

Dog-sitting days
23/03/09 01:41 Filed in: Daily Life
If there is something that makes me fear and love it at the same time, it will be my friend’s German Shepard - Baloo. Baloo belongs to my best friend Jennifer from elementary school. I still remembered the first time when Jennifer called me over the phone rather excited and asked me to go over and check out her new puppy. Well, let’s just say our definitions of puppy weren’t exactly the same. A puppy to me is something small and no taller than above your ankles. Imagined my surprise when I opened the door to her house and what came dashing to the door was a rather big and heavy puppy. I thought it was the father or mother of the puppy she wanted me to see! That was my first encounter with Baloo.
I went over to Jennifer’s house a few times after that and played with the dog. During one of those play times, I guess it wasn’t such a good idea to play ‘the ball is mine’ with a German Shepard. At first, Baloo carried in his mouth a soft round plastic ball toward me and gestured for me to throw it so he can play catch. We did that for a few rounds until on the last round I held onto the ball as he was trying to pull it away with his teeth/mouth. He got upset that the ball wasn’t freed so he started to growl and within few seconds, before I realized what had happened, bit me hard on my thumb. I was so shocked that I did not feel the pain at first. The wound on my thumb goes from the middle to where the nail grew. I can see a bit of my bone and yet with a rather calm voice, I called out to Jennifer at the time saying ‘Um, hey Jen..do you have a bandage of some sort?’ It was so calm that Jennifer thought I just had a paper cut. She was horrified to find out what had happened the next minute and grabbed my injured hand straight to the sink to rinse with cold water. I saw Baloo looked so sad as he was getting scolded by Jennifer so after my thumb was bandaged, I went over to pat Baloo and told him it’s ok. Jennifer of course thought I was nuts to do so. She said she will never want to get near that dog if it were her. What can I say? I still love him.
Last week Jennifer and her family had to go on an urgent leave out of the country and told my sister and I to help take care of Baloo. The first three days were not so bad but somehow he managed to lock himself in one of the small bedrooms overnight on the fourth day. Yes, he left a mess of pees and poo for me to clean. When my sister and I had to leave after making sure everything was ok in the morning, Baloo looked upset and depressed. The same day we returned at night to give him fresh water and food, he threw a fit on us. When we tried to open the door, he laid right next to the entrance door, blocking us from opening it. He is so heavy that I can’t budge it open wider. When my sister and I tried to talk to him and asked him to please be kind and let us in, he laid down his head as well to block the door even further while letting out two big sighs. After trying to negotiate with him for about 10 minutes outside the door (yes I felt silly doing so but I didn’t want him to be hungry and want to make sure he is ok), my sister and I pretended we gave up and told him we are leaving. We closed the door and walked away, waiting outside in their lawn. After about a minute, Baloo started to bark so we walked back and called out his name. This time when we opened the door, he was wagging his tail and happy to see us. Gesh..talk about hard to please. Even with all these, my sister and I still love Baloo. Go figure. For this dog, I have been waking up before 10am which is NOT something I do on daily basis.
Well, below is the famous dog. A dog that I fear and love.

Happy wappy mail day

This week the mail has been rather...boring. I would say 90% were junk or ads and 10% were bills (yet these 10% took 90% of the money that I make). But not today! Today there was a lovely package from a dolly friend. Hooray for mail day!
I did a partial swap last week with a dolly friend/customer of mine. I’ve mentioned before that I love to do swap with other talented dolly people. It is amazing to see what other people can make and to have that piece or pieces of work from them. To me, it is almost like collecting art.
Anyhow, I was just expecting one dress from this person and yet I received three! Talk about bonus! Holy cow...all three were beautifully made too! One of the dresses has an apron with hand stitched squirrel design. Both hubby and my sister (who happened to drop by today) thought it was made by a machine..that’s how perfect the piece is. I am just so happy to meet so many wonderful and amazing people through dolls.

Cute little helmets for cute little dolls

Ok, I do apologize for the lack of update and post on my own blog. Most of the time I have silly little things going on with my daily life that I would want to share here but between commissions and etsy, I barely have time to sleep let alone update blog.
I have been super busy with ongoing commissions since last year and finally had some time now to do update. It wasn’t my intention to have the first post of this year related to sales but it ended up being one anyways.
I was fortunate enough to find pictures of Latidoll yellow wearing motorcycle helmets and even more fortunate to have family and relatives from oversea to help me get them. I had to ask my mom to help me get a few first to try out and see how well the helmets fit on my dolls before ordering for more.
I am expecting a shipment of these helmets to arrive in a week or so. I was told there will be 7 colors so once they arrive, I will have more detail pictures and info posted here. I will try to set up a shopping cart with colors and quantity of each colors here as well.
For those who are interested in getting one, I will post all info here once the helmets arrive so just leave me a comment on my blog.
Here are the basic info for now:
Size the helmets are for: Latidoll yellow with normal ears.
Number of helmets available: 70 helmets
Price of each helmet: USD$11
Shipping: first class mail for US buyer is USD$3; first class for international buyer is USD$4 for 1 helmet and USD$6 for more than one; registered mail outside of US is USD$15.
Colors: I was told there are 7 colors..right now I only have pictures for red orange, baby pink and baby blue.
